Eat better, get more active and win a prize!
2 free activities per week for your family
Possible activities over the next 6 weeks:
- Skiing / snowshoeing day
- Family skating day
- Family dodge ball game
- Walking rally
- Healthy Cooking
- Game show style game (Family Feud or a Supermarket Sweep promoting healthy living)
- Workshops / information sessions with the health nurse and / or CSSS Nutritionist
- Family swim activities
Families that participate in the FREE activities will be scored on a point system!!
The family with the most points at the end of the 6 weeks will win a Prize!!

Teams must be 2-5 people and not necessarily immediate family. Once your registration is received, I will send you, via e-mail, a schedule, challenge rules and prize information.

The 5-30 Health and Wellness Challenge promotes healthy eating habits and physical activity into one’s daily life. The challenge entails eating 5 fruits/vegetables and exercising for 30 minutes each day. The challenge begins on March 1st and ends on April 11th 2012.

Every year the Community Engagement Committee holds a Volunteer Appreciation & Recognition Brunch to celebrate contributions made to the life of the Magdalen Islands’ English-speaking community. We invite you to take part in the nomination of volunteers.
Who is eligible?
Local committees and the public will select nominees for the Volunteer Appreciation & Recognition Awards. Candidates are people who have made considerable contributions to the life of the English-speaking community beyond the usual expectations of their job or profession, through volunteerism. There will be two categories: Youth (15-30) and Adult (30+). Persons who are currently employees of the four partnering organizations (CAMI, CEDEC, Grosse-Ile/Entry Island School & Centre d’action Benevole) are not eligible for nomination.
How can I nominate someone?
To nominate candidates - FOR GROSSE ILE: Nomination forms may be obtained at CAMI, CEDEC or Grosse Ile High School or electronically via the CAMI website at www.micami.org. FOR ENTRY ISLAND: Nomination forms may be obtained at the Post Office or electronically via the CAMI website at www.micami.org. Please complete these forms and return them by mail or drop-off to CAMI in Grosse Ile or the Post Office on Entry Island or via email to

CAMI (Council for Anglophone Magdalen Islanders) has been working in the English-speaking community of the Magdalen Islands since 1987. A non-profit organization, CAMI works for the community, promoting the rights of Anglophone Magdalen Islanders. CAMI ensures that English-speakers benefit from the various available programs, across an array of sectors, and that English-speakers benefit from these programs in their own language. Health, education, language, culture and heritage are all part of CAMI’s mandate, a mandate that will continue to guide the organization through the years to come.
